Hi i installed Windows 10 a few weeks ago on my laptop a Dell Latitude D630 and it works great, Apart from one thing my PCMCIA Card is not functioning correctly.I use the slot for my camera micro drive cards, when i insert the card it is detected a driver installs, it is correctly shown in device manager and it shows on the removable device list. But for some reason it dose not show in file explorer. It is very weird and the only thing i can compare the problem to, is the problem some windows 8 installs had with the DVD drive not showing on file explorer with some computers, and you had to do a reg hack to get it to show. This is basically the same exceptits a PCMCIA device. My device works fine i have about 10 different micro drive's from several different manufacturers and none of them work. I have tried them on a friends Windows 7 laptop and they all work perfectly. So i dual Boot my laptop with Windows 7 to make certainmy PCMCIA slot was working and they all worked perfectly, and the slot functions correctly, so this is definitely a issue with Windows 10.I have asked this question before and the advice i got from Microsoft did not do anything which is why I'm re asking just this time making sure i give better information.

I too have a problem with the PCMCIA slot on my Laptop, also a Dell, since upgrading to Win 10. I use mine for a number of different cards but mostly for a USB3 expansion card.

The slot is there under the device manager but it will not recognise any cardI put into this slot. I have contacted all the card makers and unsured that the correct drivers are installed. My laptop is upto date with Dell drivers and BIOS. None of the card producers can provide any answer and the only advice I have recieved is to binthe upgrade and complete a clean install of win 10.

Every thing worked well under Win 7 Pro but not Win 10.I have no intention to buy a copy of Win 10, yet, to try this clean install and it would seem that many PCMCIA users have similar problems. So all I can say is that you are not alone.MS please sort this for us.PJCook. I also have installed Windows 10 on an old HP laptop, an NC8430 with a pcmcia/cardbus slot. I have USB 2.0 two port cardbus cards that I used in my pcmcia slot with Windows 7 and XP and they were all recognized and any flash drive I plugged into the USBslots on the card worked fine. Now that I have upgraded to Windows 10 the pcmcia/cardbus cards I put in the pcmcia slot are recognized and drivers install, but whenever I try to put a USB flash drive into either of the two USB 2.0 slots, Windows does notrecognize them.
It puts them as 'unrecognized devices' so this has to be an incompatibility with Windows 10 and pcmcia/cardbus. Is there any chance that updated NEC drivers will be developed or will I just have to put my old slot plug back in and ignoreits existence?
